The Committee on Government Organization moves to amend the bill by striking out everything after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

article 11C. Public policy requiring notice to certain dismissed employees.

§5-11C-1.  Public policy declared; notice required.

It is the public policy of this state that any civil service exempt, at-will employee of the state or its political subdivisions, dismissed from employment due to change in administration, be provided with not less than a seven business days notice of dismissal and not less than a period of seven business days allotted for the employee to vacate his or her office.
